REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) entered into force on June 1st 2007. REACH substitutes other nearly 40 European regulations in order to achieve a unique system for chemical products management.
UE chemicals policy has the target to guarantee a high level of health and environment protection and to give more importance to ecological chemical products innovation.
REACH implies an obligatory substances registration at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) for manufacturers and importers, even if they are part of a preparation or an article, when they are commercialized in UE in more than one ton per year. Distributors and intermediate users are also under REACH when they use substances in order to divulge their professional or industrial activity.
In order to assure REACH compliances, Ferroatlantica has pre-registered, and is in the way to register, all the substances that all its legal entities (Ferroatlantica, Hidronitro, Ferropem, Silicio Ferrosolar and Grupo Ferroatlantica) produce and sell.
